Eating Right...Foods That Help Your Body

For you to look good and be healthy, there are some natural foods that need to be part of your daily meal.These foods have natural vitamins, antioxidants and other immune boosting substances needed by the body to function very well and be healthy. Some of these foods and how they help the body are listed below.

SOYBEANS.
Research have shown that soy beans contains phytochemicals which are very beneficial to health.Some of the health benefits of soy beans include prevention of cancer,promotion of heart health, healthy bones and alleviation of menopausal symptoms.Soy beans contains a very high amount of protein and all essential amino acids. It is also a very rich source of fiber, B vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron and phosphorus.

TOMATOES.
Tomato contain a very powerful antioxidant called lycopene in abundance. Research have proved that lycopene helps to prevent prostate cancer. Studies by health professionals found that men who eat more servings of tomato based foods daily has a lower risk of developing prostate cancer than those who don't.

FISH.
The omega 3 fatty acid in fish oil helps to reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering bad cholesterol (Low-Density Lipoprotein). Epidemiological studies suggest that individuals at risk of coronary heart disease benefit from the consumption of fish oil due to its high content of omega 3 fatty acids.

BLACK BEANS.
Black beans contains very high heart healthy nutrients which include folate, antioxidants, magnesium which help in lowering blood pressure and fiber which help control cholesterol and blood sugar level.

APPLE.
This food is very rich in vitamin C and beta carotene.Vitamin C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents.It is also very rich in antioxidant nutrients flavonoid and polyphenols, and very low in calories. It contains no saturated fat and very rich in dietary fiber which help prevent the absorption of bad cholesterol (Low-Density Lipoprotein) in the guts. Apple is also a very good source of B complex vitamins which help as co-factors for enzymes in metabolism as well as in various synthetic functions inside the body.

LEMON.
Lemon is the most widely used citrus fruit in the world. Lemon is packed with numerous health benefiting nutrients. It is low in calories, contains no saturated fat but very rich in dietary fiber. It contains citric acid which is a natural preservative that aids digestion and can help dissolve kidney stones. It is also an excellent source of ascorbic acid which is a powerful natural antioxidant that helps in the prevention of scurvy.
Lemon also contain minerals like iron, potassium, copper and calcium. Potassium is a very important component of cell and body fluids that helps control heart rate and blood pressure.
